Key Dates for the 2024 November Election

These dates apply only to voting in Ann Arbor.

  • First day that you can vote in person, with an absentee ballot at the UMMA Pop-up Clerk's Office at 525 S. State St. You can also register to vote there.

  • First day that you can vote in person, with an absentee ballot at the Ann Arbor City clerk’s office at 301 E. Huron St.

  • It is recommended that you request an absentee ballot on-line no later than October 15 to give yourself enough time to receive your ballot and return it.

  • Last day to register on-line to vote. Starting October 22, you’ll need to register in person at a clerk’s office with proof of residency.

  • Pop-up Clerk's Office opens at University of Michigan Duderstadt Center, 2281 Bonisteel for registration and in-person absentee voting.

  • This is the last day you should drop your ballot in the mail. Starting October 23, we recommend returning your ballot in person to the Ann Arbor clerk’s office, satellite office, or to one of the secure drop boxes.

  • First day of the 9 day early voting period at Early Voting Centers (City Hall, Duderstadt & UMMA)

  • Last day of the in-person early voting period at Voting Centers (City Hall, Duderstadt & UMMA)

  • Last day for registered voters to vote in person at a clerk's office with an absentee ballot (City Hall, Duderstadt & UMMA)

  • Election Day! Polls are open 7 a.m. - 8 p.m. local time. Find your polling place HERE. If you still need to register to vote, you can register and then vote until 8 pm at the Ann Arbor City Clerk’s office or the pop-up clerk's offices at UMMA and the Duderstadt center.
